On 28 December 2023, WFN President Dr Wolfgang Grisold announced that the World Health Organization (WHO)Global Roadmap to Beat Meningitis by 2030On behalf of the World Neurological Society (WFN).
The composition of the group includes representatives from ministries of health in each of the six World Health Organization (WHO) regions, representatives from six civil society organizations with regional and global representatives, and bilateral or bilateral or Includes donor representatives at global and regional levels, including regions. Multilateral Government Agencies and Charitable Organizations.
The collective vision is “Towards a world without meningitis” and has three visionary goals:
- Eliminate bacterial meningitis epidemics.
- Reduce vaccine-preventable bacterial meningitis cases and deaths.When
- It reduces disability and improves quality of life after meningitis from any cause.
Key activities and milestones include:
- prevention and epidemic control;
- diagnosis and treatment;
- disease monitoring;
- Support and care for meningitis patients; and
- Advocacy and Engagement.
WFN looks forward to supporting WHO, the Technical Task Force and their partners globally and regionally in implementing the Global Roadmap to Defeat Meningitis by 2030.
We have a key role to play and want to help you reach the goals of the roadmap. We want to strengthen the implementation of our Global Roadmap, raise awareness of meningitis on the global health agenda, and work towards our vision of a world free of meningitis.
