Richard Frank, M.D., Chief Medical Officer, Vida Health, said: “It is not surprising to us that patients who are supported as a whole show better outcomes than those who are treated in silos. We clearly need behavioral health support and are excited to be able to provide it to our patients.”
A single-arm retrospective design was used in this study. Participants were enrolled in the Vida Health Diabetes Management Program. This app-based intervention employs one-on-one remote sessions with a health coach, registered dietitian, and/or certified diabetes care and education specialist, and structured lessons and tools related to diabetes management and self-care. Participants provided baseline HbA1C values and follow-up values at least 90 days after program initiation. The Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-8) and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) assessed self-reported depressive and anxiety symptoms, respectively.
“The ability of our members to maintain clinically relevant short-term outcomes for 12 months is a testament to the effectiveness of Vida’s model of care for VidaHealth.
