Somalytics is helping change the way you and I think about sleep tracking. At CES Unveiled in Las Vegas, the nanotechnology company showcased the SomaSleep eye-tracking sleep mask. This is a wearable sleep tracker that’s different from what you wear on your wrist or finger.
SomaSleep uses tiny capacitive sensors within a lightweight sleep mask to track eye movements (including REM or rapid eye movements) to provide data on sleep patterns and general sleep quality. To do. These insights help detect possible sleep disturbances and raise awareness of sleep quality, which plays an important role in mental and physical health.
How Soma Sleep works

Take a look at SomaSleep, a lightweight sleep tracking mask from Somalytics.

Somalytics has developed something called SomaCap. This is a highly sensitive, compact, “paper-thin” carbon nanotube paper composite capacitive sensor.
When incorporated into the design of a lightweight, wearable sleep mask, the sensors monitor eye movements during sleep or wakefulness, including rapid eye movements. Previously, this feat could only be accomplished during a visit to a sleep center. With the introduction of SomaSleep, people will be able to access this information from the comfort of their own homes, from the palm of their hand.
Sleep insights are delivered through the SomaSleep mobile app and can be easily shared with your doctor. The battery that powers the SomaSleep mask is also very small. It runs for 8 hours, but you don’t have to worry about overheating while you sleep.
In addition to eye tracking, Somalytics plans to use the sensor for various applications such as HMI (human machine interaction) technology, wearables and industrial safety.
SomaSleep will be available for purchase by December 2023 for $199, according to Somalytics.
