MLB fans were shocked when news broke in 2013 that Chris Benson was assaulted by his wife Anna.
Anna was interviewing Chris for FHM magazine and asked her ex-husband a few questions. One of her questions was whether the pitcher was nervous that Anna was actually sleeping with her teammates.
“Does it make you nervous when I go to a show like Howard Stern and tell you that if you cheat on me, you’ll sleep with all your teammates?” Anna asked.
Chris Benson replied:
“I get some butterflies in my stomach. Especially in our circle.
Anna previously revealed to the former Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher that if he cheated on her, he would sleep with all of his teammates.
Chris Benson’s answer to this question was not what most people expected. This is something he often hears from Anna, saying that the running joke should probably have been a red flag. Benson also said that he was the one who caused surprise to everyone who didn’t know the couple very well.
They were together for 12 years before divorcing in 2012. It was in 2013 when stories broke that Anna Benson (now Anna Warren) attacked her ex-husband. I am NOT married.
When Chris Benson said he would cheat on his wife if he had permission
In the same interview, Chris Benson revealed that the couple often joked about cheating. But his ex-wife said the same thing during an interview with Howard Stern on his radio show.
He admitted that her remark must have caused confusion to all listeners who were unaware of the fact that most of it was a joke.
“But our friends hear it all the time. Now that Howard Stern is on satellite radio, I don’t think there’s a limit to what you can say,” Benson said.
Anna posed another question: Who would she want to be with if she let him cheat on her once? .
“If I let you cheat on me and I would never cheat on you, who would you choose to cheat on with?”
The pitcher replied by name of the 2007 Miss Oklahoma winner. Benson said it was because she also won the Miss America pageant. Benson also added that he was one of the first to scout the pageant winner.
“Miss Oklahoma. She won the Miss America pageant, right? We scouted her from the beginning,” Chris Benson replied.

It was a bizarre interview, and while it’s never right or easy to judge a marriage (because marriage can be complicated), most readers were left with more questions than answers.
