Reasons to buy: The coolest mattress in our test
If your number one priority is sleeping cool, this is the coolest mattress we’ve ever tested. Casper claims this mattress will keep you cool for at least 12 hours, which means proved to be true. Expert Review He Jacquelyn Turner found this mattress to be almost cool to the touch and stay cool while he slept. It was perfect for a hot Georgian summer night. This is thanks to Casper’s Snow technology and his AirScape layer. Tiny holes in the mattress foam allow heat and moisture to escape from the body and out of the mattress.
This Snow technology is an add-on to the Wave Hybrid mattress and also provides the best support for Casper’s range of mattresses. Your spine is aligned with different zones. Soft foam towards the top of the mattress gently sinks into your shoulders, while denser foam in the middle supports your lower back. This is combined with gel pods under the hips and hips for added support, and individually wrapped coils on top to prevent the mattress from sagging over time. The only place it drops a mark is the edge support – it gets a little mushy in the corners.

Reasons to buy: Cool mattress for incredible value
The DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid ranks #2 on our list of the best mattresses. Expert tester Camryn said it gets hot at night and was initially wary of mattresses with memory foam, even hybrids. That’s because, thanks to a cashmere top cover, layers of cooling gel foam, and individually wrapped coils, this mattress is highly breathable and keeps you cool all night long.
Moreover, it suited my husband, who usually sleeps coolly. This adaptability is one of the great strengths of this mattress. Temperature aside, Camryn found that her partner’s different sleep styles also worked. Soft enough for side sleepers and supportive enough for back sleepers and stomach sleepers.
However, the best thing about this mattress is its value for money. This mattress typically sells for under $800. The best mattress he’s priced at over $2000 in the industry, he’s one of the best mattresses at an incredible price. With a one-year trial period and lifetime warranty, you can’t beat the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid.

Reasons to buy: Cool mattress with good pressure relief
Memory foam mattresses have a reputation for being uncomfortable. The dense foam traps warmth, making it easier to overheat. However, this hybrid has all the benefits of memory foam while staying cool. Tempur-Pedic’s SmartClimate Dual Cover System is the marketing term for a stretch-knit cooling mattress cover. Combining contouring foam with responsive coils, this mattress is highly breathable. With the warmer spring weather, Jaclyn stayed cool even with the mattress protector on.
But while cooling is a nice feature, the ProAdapt is the best at pressure points. The famous Tempur material makes you feel completely weightless. I’m here. This also gives you the added benefit of ProAdapt adapting to any sleeping style, so you’ll be comfortable on your back, side or prone. It also has excellent motion isolation so you won’t wake up when your partner tosses and turns.

Why am I hot at night?
Unfortunately there is no easy answer here. Nocturnal hot flashes can occur during pregnancy, perimenopause, and menopause. Climate and weather can obviously play a role, as can the layout of your home. A room with strong sunlight during the day or a room with poor ventilation can stay warm at night. Sometimes it’s as simple as sharing a bed with your partner. With the two of her under one cover, a lot of heat is generated, making each other even warmer.
However, often it’s just a personal preference. Some of us happen to fall asleep in the heat and need extra help to sleep cool.
What can I do to stop overheating at night?
It goes without saying that air conditioning is the first port of call. If ceiling fans, air conditioning, or even open windows aren’t doing the trick, the problem is more likely to be related to your bedding. May be too warm in summer, especially in hot regions. Sheets can also cause overheating. Tightly woven materials such as jersey and silk are comfortable, but they are less breathable.
If none of these work, you may have a problem with your mattress. Due to the high density of memory foam mattresses, the body heats up considerably. A hybrid mattress that combines multiple materials may be a better option for keeping you cool. If you can’t afford to buy a new mattress, buying a cooling mattress topper with an additional cooling layer between the mattresses might be a wise investment.
What type of mattress is best for keeping you cool?
Hybrid mattresses are great for keeping cool. Most often employ cooling technologies such as graphite or copper inlays that draw heat away from the body, combined with other cooling and ventilation features such as gels or mattress springs. If you sleep hot, avoid memory foam mattresses. Dense foam and a sinking sensation trap heat to keep you warm.
