When the madness of Donald Trump’s never-ending drama circus from the White House is finally over, my and my spouse’s sleep has, thankfully and benevolently, vastly improved. The madness of these four years did not stop anyone.
They fed all of us with jokes and slanderous material that fueled our fears. Pure anxiety, day after day. We try to rest and then wake up and pick up a newspaper (Daily Herald of course) or check credible media sources but read or hear that another minister has been fired only. Another photo shoot based on him, self-promotion, COVID lies, national security dismissal, etc. All of this, along with his daily pranks/rants, heightened our stress, anxiety, and deep-seated ‘what’s next’ thoughts.
Gaslighting in our country and the world has destroyed our ability to relax, to have a truly meaningful rest.
As we tried to deal with it, the 24/7 madness that reigned in the White House was beyond brutality. During his four hellish years, he didn’t know in his sleep that his term was over for another day. A very bad dream that never stops. Until then, until he leaves office on January 20, 2021.
Then… Oh!
Moving forward and two years later my wife and I thank President Joe Biden and your team/staff for giving us a good night’s sleep.
