Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Mental health concerns continue to rise among teenage students in southern Idaho. Mental health issues are becoming all too common for young people in Magic Valley.
Students within the Twin Falls School District have access to resources available to students or their families if they are concerned about their mental health.
However, some are concerned about whether students are taking advantage of what is available.
According to spokesperson Eva Craner, some students in the district have taken matters into their own hands.
“Student organizations like Sources of Strength were peer-led student groups focused on supporting mental health in school communities. I really think change is happening. Young people. mental health is becoming more of a focus, and that conversation really needs to continue.
Craner also said students and their families have access to five free counseling sessions through BPA Health’s Student and Family Assistance Program and the school district’s partnership.
