REDMOND, Oregon (KTVZ) — A local nonprofit will celebrate a new location in Redmond on Friday, February 3, building 50 beds for children who don’t have their own beds.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is a national organization that collects materials to make twin beds for children. The Central Oregon chapter has built approximately 525 beds to date and is poised to build more.
The celebration will take place at SHP’s new headquarters at EXPION360 at 1266 SW Lake St. Previous donors of the space had expanded and needed room. So EXPION360 owner John Zampose and COO Paul Sean have come to the rescue by donating space in the building.
Not only are they donating space for SHP’s new facility, they’re providing all the materials to build the 50 beds on February 3rd.
If you want to join SHP and help build the bed, sign up using the link: bit.ly/shpevent. They offer free lunch.
The general public is welcome to attend the grand opening on February 3rd at 9:30 am. For more information, please contact Chapter President Joe Myers at (541) 280-7683.
