BOSTON – People with ADHD may be at higher risk of poor mental health than those with other neurodevelopmental conditions, a new study has found.
Autism is associated with mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression. To find out if the same is true for her ADHD, researchers surveyed her more than 500 adults in the UK.
They found that people with ADHD symptoms were more likely to experience anxiety and depression than adults with high autism traits.
Scientists hope that more research in this area will lead to more mental health resources to support people with ADHD.
