Dear Deedle: My wife attacked me with a knife. Thankfully I was able to wrestle her, but I was completely shocked.
She has never acted like this before.
We are both 48 and have been together for over 20 years.
She is very apprehensive about going out or putting someone on our council to bed.
We were then contacted by the local authority and explained that we needed access to the flat to install new windows.
My wife was sick with Covid at the time so we managed to delay.
Dear Deidre Team Contact
All questions are answered individually by a trained counselor.
However, she became very aggressive when I explained to her that eventually access had to be granted or the council would take legal action.
I restrained her to the bed and she marked my neck, scratched the top of my head, ripped my T-shirt and assaulted me.
Then she picked up a carving knife and told me to leave her alone.
She became someone I didn’t know. she doesn’t know what to do
Her anxiety has escalated to extreme levels.

Deidre says: Explain to her that you are worried about her and need professional help.
Have her consult her family doctor.
If possible, seek support with her and ask for a referral to the local mental health team.
