Igos rapper Quavo has written a tribute to his late nephew Takeoff.
Quavo, whose real name is Quavious Keyate Marshall, posted the song on social media Wednesday, just two months after the tragic incident in Texas.
A heartwarming and nostalgic track titled “Without You” was accompanied by a black-and-white video of Quavo sitting in a chair and smoking.
Takeoff, whose real name is Kirsnick Kari Ball, was shot and pronounced dead outside a Houston bowling alley on November 1, 2022.
The lyrics read, “I don’t know how many times I’ve cried with tears falling down.”
“No day is the same without you, I don’t know if I’m the same without you.”
Migos rose to fame almost a decade ago with the 2013 hit Versace, and Drake’s remix made them even more popular.
Takeoff was the youngest of the Mygostrio and was often considered the most laid-back member, alongside his uncle and cousin Offset, real name Kiari Kendrell Cefus.
In a tribute to Takeoff, Offset said the death “left a hole in my heart that could never be filled” and said his reality felt “like a nightmare.”
Last month, 33-year-old Patrick Xavier Clarke was charged with murder in connection with the rapper’s death.
