Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (WHTM) — The PA Farm Show offers more than just food and animals, it also offers events and programs to improve the lives of Pennsylvania farmers.
On Sunday, the AgriSafe Network, a nonprofit organization that works to educate others about the health and safety of people working in the agricultural industry, held an informational meeting.
The network offers a resource called the AgriStress Helpline, a hotline that provides mental health crisis response. The hotline is staffed by trained mental health professionals who serve the farming community.
“We have grants and funds that bring in programs that help minimize stigma and educate health professionals to better understand the culture and unique needs of agriculture. Please help us educate our young people, so that we can really foster normal conversations about mental health and better understand the barriers that may exist so that we can move forward and address some of those barriers. increase.
