Martin Lewis has revealed his battle with ‘anxiety’ after returning to social media in 2023.

The money-saving expert took to his Twitter account to open up to fans about being nervous about getting back to posting after taking some time off over the Christmas holidays.

50-year-old Martin, who often appears on television to give money-saving advice, recently took a break for Christmas.

However, he took to Twitter yesterday after more than two weeks off to wish him a “Happy New Year.”

“Happy New Year,” he said. “It looks tough, but let’s hope 2023 is better than last year.

“This is my first post of the year. I’m nervous about getting back on social (really needed a break).

“For now, I’m going to stick with a few job posts.”

The cash-savvy guru announced last month that he was “taking back his headspace” by staying away from social media.

Martin has had a busy year finding smart ways to save money during the UK’s current cost of living crisis.

He recently revealed a 1p shopping trick that helps keep people from losing cash when food inflation hits an all-time high.

After working hard, the star explained that he needed the time he needed for Christmas.

He posted a text slide on his Instagram page, writing, “It’s from me! I’m currently signing off work and social media for the holiday season to reclaim some headspace.

“I wish all of you who celebrate a joyful, peaceful and heartwarming Christmas a Happy New Year. Thank you for your support this year.

“And for those of you who are feeling difficult, sad and lonely during this time, may you overcome it easily with more smiles than you expected. See you in 2023.Martin .”

Fans were quick to praise the founders of the money Savingexpert.com website for “getting through” the tough economic times.
