Athlete from Akron, Ohio, LeBron James is an avid fan of the Ohio Buckeyes.
James cheered for the Buckeyes in the college football national semifinal game against the Georgia Bulldogs.
James, who won the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013, showed affection for quarterback CJ Stroud and wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.
Both have stood out in Ohio State this season and continue to make their claims in this game. A Heisman Trophy finalist, Stroud caught 348 passing yards for four touchdowns. Harrison finished the game with 5 receptions for 106 yards and 2 touchdowns. Harrison was injured in the second half and missed the rest of the game.
Georgia scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to take a 1-point lead. Ohio State countered with a drive that went into field goal range. They had a chance to win on a go-ahead field goal, but kicker Noah Ruggles missed it on the left. James reacted strongly to missing out on the championship on that play.
Regardless, Ohio State did exceptionally well. Ruggles said he was kicking his goal 50-yard field, which is difficult for a college player. Ohio State had a great season that even Bulldogs fans take their hats off.
Georgia will face TCU, who beat Michigan in another semi-final, in the championship on January 9.
