Lawton, Oklahoma (KSWO) – A family in Lawton seeks help finding an emotional support dog for their child.
Roxy belongs to the son of Jeremy Hartney, who has autism. She went missing after a group of dogs wandered into his backyard.
Hartney said he was out of town at the time and got a frantic call that the dog had started a fight with four dogs. dog followed.
Hartney said she was gone almost immediately when his friend went outside to get the dog. He said owning her Roxy gave her son a sense of responsibility and they were looking everywhere for her.
“It can give them a kind of purpose that I feel. It’s some kind of responsibility that they can do and that’s something..at least for my son.” Waking her up every day and getting her ready to go to school.We have plastered every house in this neighborhood.I have put her on every pole..going to every vet today.
