Thalapathy Vijay star Varisu/Vaarasudu is one of the big names slated for Pongal’s release. The film is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju. Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead in this film which includes the song Thaman. The film also features Jayasudha, Prakash her Raj, Srikanth, Prabhu, Kusboo and Shaam in major roles. Ahead of the release, we had a quick interview with Srikanth.
How did your journey begin with Vijay’s Varisu/Vaarasudu film?
This is my first time acting in a Tamil film. Director Vamshi Paidipallly narrated the plot of Vaarasudu. I will be seen as Vijay’s brother and play an important role. Vaarasudu is the perfect family he entertainer with a solid human feeling. The film will be like Telugu cinema as many artists like Jayasudha Garu, Rashmika, Kick Shaam, Sarath Kumar, Sangeetha and Prabhu have appeared in Telugu cinema before.
Is your role in the movie positive or negative?
The film has a brotherly feel to it. Vamshi Paidipally’s films have great emotions and I’m happy to be a part of it. Vijay is a fantastic frenzy and has not appeared in The Family His Entertainer lately. I had a feature role in a movie. I am delighted to be able to debut in Tamil cinema with such a good film as Valis alongside Vijay.
What’s so special about Vijay?
I met him several times before. But this is my first time working with him. Vijay is very reticent and he doesn’t speak much. He doesn’t carry his cell phone on set and he works with great dedication until the director tells him to pack up.
Do you think Vaarasudu will compete with Sankranthi’s other releases?
Now all movies are PAN-Indian movies. Our Telugu movies are doing well in Tamil Nadu. Sankranti is known for its movies and audiences rap every movie. Vaarasudu is a film for the Sankranthi festival.
How was your experience working with Vamshi Paidipally?
Vamsi Paidiprary is a brilliant director. He shows a lot of perfection in his filmmaking. Vamshi makes no compromises and makes films to very high standards.
How was your experience working at Dil Raju?
I have been in the industry for a long time, but this is my first time participating in a Dil Raju Garu production. He has also participated in the Ram Charan – Shankar project produced by Dil Raju Garu.
After Akanda, you chose another role. Will you continue to play roles like this?
I did this role to be different than what I did with Akanda. We also have the Shankar – Ram Charan project. It’s just another different character. So I wanted to do unique roles, and if you like the script, I’m ready to do them.
