I was able to sleep soundly when I wore the Oral Ring 3rd Generation Horizon.

I have been using the Oura Ring Gen 3 Horizon for several months now. After using it extensively, including wearing it almost every night in my sleep, I want to share about the wearable and how it has improved my sleep. Its shortcomings. Let’s start from the beginning.

    set up

Once you have your aura ring, the first step is sizing. Oura will send you a sizing kit with 12 different options. Following that, we need to tell which sample ring is best. The company will then send your Oura. You can also choose the color – I chose the beautiful golden variant.

Once you have Oura, you will need to download the Oura app from the Play Store or App Store. Oura wheel doesn’t have a screen, so the app displays all the information.

The app shows you sleep, readiness and activity data to tell you what your body needs throughout the day. Readiness Score uses over 20 biometric signals, including body temperature, heart rate and sleep, to give you information about your health and indicate whether you’re ready for the day ahead. A low score means you are stressed and need to take it easy. It can also be a sign of illness. However, this also happens when the app enters “hibernate mode”. Rest Mode adjusts your daily goals because your body is under stress and needs to prioritize rest and recovery.

The ring also tracks activities such as your heart rate during workouts. It detects whether you have started exercising and tells you how many steps you have taken and how many calories you have burned. It also tells you how active and well-moved you were throughout the day. I used the aura ring when I was depressed and didn’t get enough exercise, so this is the function I didn’t use the most. However, I started going back to the gym feeling better than before, and while I realized smartwatches were better for getting an accurate picture of how my activity affected my health, More on that later.

Why you need an aura ring

Now, the Oura Ring’s biggest resistance is sleep tracking. Track total sleep time, time spent in bed, REM sleep, deep sleep, sleep latency (time to fall asleep), sleep efficiency, and time to sleep. Oxygen saturation, breathing regularity, frequency of waking up and moving during the night. Sleep efficiency is measured by sleep restfulness, which tracks waking during sleep, excessive movement, and getting out of bed.
It also tracks heart rate variability and measures heart rate variability.

Oddly enough, my naturopath recommended me Oularing. During the session, I started noticing that I didn’t feel rested in the morning after a full night’s sleep. , thought the Oura ring might provide more insight while I waited. And it did.

I learned a lot about sleeping in the ring. When I started, I had decent sleep scores in the 70’s range. You will continually say that you need to be careful with ‘timing’ and ‘peace of mind’. Timing is something I have never had success with in weeks of using the Oura Ring. Basically, the timing score takes into account sleep, including naps, and the midpoint of your sleep cycle, which, according to the app, falls between midnight and 3am. As a person, this score is not very good. However, while timing scores are important, they weren’t my primary concern.

The app also tells you to pay attention to your sleep score. Thankfully, the app tells you how to improve this score. The mattress is comfortable and the bedroom is quiet, dark, and cool (ambient
18 degrees Celsius), also avoid spicy foods and alcohol, and avoid caffeine in the afternoon and evening. The app also suggests completing your workout an hour or two before bed.

I thought this was concerning, but after a trip to Hawaii that completely ruined my sleep cycle, I scored low in the 50-60 range for almost a week. I can no longer eat. It tasted weird when I ate it, and worst of all, I couldn’t sleep. The app then warned me that I should watch my sleep. I took it seriously.

So for a few weeks, I got serious about improving my sleep. I avoided alcohol and caffeine, kept my room cool, went to bed early as my ring suggested, and took GABA and magnesium as recommended by my naturopathic doctor. I had occasional sleep scores, but I started receiving better scores. I was. And then I felt better, I felt better. I was able to eat again and didn’t feel too cold.

    Who doesn’t like a good night’s rest?

The Oral Ring has been very useful for me, who suffers from sleep apnea and insomnia. Smartwatches can track your sleep, but I’m usually too heavy to actually sleep.

Some of them can be used for a week or two of testing, but the weight of the watch can make you feel depressed. Having a very light ring-sized tracker was great for tracking my sleep. It’s not a one-size-fits-all solution, but if you’re like me, and you’re tired after a full night’s rest every morning, the Oura Ring is definitely great for tracking sleep. , If you want to know what’s going on in your sleep, I recommend purchasing the Oura ring.

Also, as someone who loves jewelry and fashion, adding a sophisticated gold ring to your collection wouldn’t be a problem.

The Oura Ring Gen 3 Horizon is priced at US$349 (464.84 CAD), while the gold version costs US$499 (684.63 CAD).
