Team India’s star hitter Rishab Punt was involved in a horrific car accident early Friday morning while traveling to his hometown of Roorkee, Uttarakhand. Pant’s car collided with a partition and caught fire. After smashing the car window and getting out of the car, the cricketer was rescued by the Haryana Road bus driver and conductor who soon arrived at the scene of the accident.
Pant currently suffers from multiple head, back and leg injuries and is being treated at a private hospital in Dehradun. Following the news of his accident, Punt has received wishes for a speedy recovery from around the cricket fraternity. India’s former captain and legendary cricketer Kapil Dev had an emotional reaction to the incident, thanking God for the stable condition of the pants.

“This is a lesson learned. When I was an up-and-coming cricketer, I had a motorcycle accident. Since that day, my brother has not let me touch my bike. Thank god the Rishabh Pant is safe.” I will,” said Kapil Dev. ABP news.
The former India international skipper also said cricketers need to look after themselves and that Mr Punt could easily hire a driver instead of driving himself. Pant was driving the car alone, according to his SP SK Singh statement in Haridwar (Rural). Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dami said on Sunday that the punt was “trying to avoid potholes or anything black” before the clashes occurred.
“Sure, you have a great looking car with great speed, but you have to be careful. Drivers are easy to get and you don’t have to drive alone. I understand that some people have it, at his age it’s normal to have it, but it’s also a responsibility, only you can take care of yourself. You have to decide,” said Kapil Dev.
A BCCI statement said Punt suffered “two cuts to his forehead, torn ligaments in his right knee, abrasions on his right wrist, ankle, toe and back.”
