British people are clueless when it comes to gut health, new research reveals.
About 82% agree that it’s important to take care of their bodies, but are unaware of how the gut affects sleep, mood and energy levels.
Experts have previously said that taking care of your gut can reduce your risk of problems like diabetes, cancer, and Alzheimer’s.

Nearly 47% of adults don’t know where to start when it comes to bowel care, according to a new report compiled by OnePoll on Activia yogurt.
According to a poll of 2,000 adults, only 60% said that one of the main functions of the intestine is to digest food.

The study also found that 16% do not prioritize gut health.
This is because many of the respondents suffer from symptoms that may indicate bowel problems such as heartburn (20%), fatigue (19%), bloating (18%) and constipation (17%). Despite that.

A study conducted through OnePoll also identified what voters thought were the best ways to maintain a healthy gut.
These include drinking more water (46%), consuming fiber (45%) and eating foods such as whole grains, bananas and vegetables (42%). All of these help keep your gut healthy.
