The Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar became the first medical facility in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to start stroke thrombolytic therapy on Wednesday.
Peshawar, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 4 January 2023): Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar became the first medical facility to start stroke thrombolytic therapy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.
If a stroke patient is brought to HMC’s neurology department within three hours, neurologists led by Dr. Ayazul Haq can remove the clot in the brain and the patient can lead a normal life.

Anwar Gul, a 70-year-old patient from Hayatabad, was one of the lucky patients to have access to this facility. The neurology department has five staff and can be used during the day, but from next year it aims to have a 24-hour system.
Neurologist, Medical Director Prof. Shehzad Akbar and KGMC Dean Prof. Zahid Zaman and apparently Chairman BoG Sahibzada Saeed have played a key role in launching modern medical services at HMC.
