She folded her hands as she waved to the audience Namaste, and blew kisses in the air, tears running down her cheeks. During her walk, Ms. Sandu also seemed to stumble, but she quickly regained her balance.
The official account of Miss Universe posted a video of the moment of excitement on Twitter. “@HarnaazKaur will be the last to take the stage as Miss Universe, so hold back your tears!” reads the caption.

Previously, the owner of Miss Universe Organization Chakrapong An Chakrayuthative shared a heartfelt message to Harunaz Sandu on Instagram. She shared a photo with Sandu and said, “Today we showed the whole world the new cosmic crown ‘Force for Good’. Tomorrow is the last day of your reign. “You are only 22 years old, but you are very strong, independent, confident and of course you have a graceful beauty. You made history in the world and we love you. I will remember it forever.”

Harunaz Sandhu has returned the Miss Universe title to India in 2021 for the first time in almost 20 years. Before Harunaz Sandhu, there were only two Indians to win the Miss Universe title: actor Sushmita Sen in 1994 and his 2000 Lala Dutta.
