One theory circulating on Reddit and TikTok is a disheartening one predicting a rather tragic end for Eleven.
The theory is that Eleven will have to sacrifice herself to save Hawkins and her friends from Vecna - come to think of it, that’s a very real possibility.
In order to close the entrance to the Upside Down from the inside, Eleven must manipulate time and rewind to the day it all began – the same day Will disappeared. References to time travel and the concept of time were common on the show, and Eleven had to deal with violations of the Upside Down each season.
Fan theory predicts that there will be a conflict between Vecna and Eleven, and that the series’ Big Bad will make her exist upside down just as badly as she did to him. Sends Will back to the day he disappeared where everyone was playing Dungeons & Dragons.
