FAIRVIEW PARK, OH – The Fairview Park Athletic Club is planning New Year’s resolutions, including healthy mental health, at its inaugural Warrior Wellness Summit.

“Coming out of COVID, we saw some things that were on our radar.
A free event open to all Fairview High School and Middle School students will be held in the Auditorium on January 9th at 7pm. Registration required.
Guest speakers on the evening include Lauren McGowan (Ellie Mental Health Clinical Director), Flo Brett (Founder and Executive Director of Effective Leadership Academy), and DJ Eidson (President and Co-Founder of Limitless Minds).
Also participating in the Warrior Wellness Summit are members of the John C. Haney Memorial Foundation.
Fairview Park residents Rick and Beth Haney founded a nonprofit in memory of their son John, a 2012 Fairview High School graduate who committed suicide in 2017.
In addition to facilitating mental health first aid and suicide prevention training, the John C. Haney Memorial Foundation has 18 “John’s Safe Places: For All” locations at various high schools in Northeast Ohio. Space” to provide students with a place to rest for mental health.
“We are very pleased that Fairview Park Athletics are taking the lead in educating and promoting mental health awareness in our community,” said Rick.
The Fairview Park Athletic Club serves as the Warriors’ sports booster, but Crandall said its mission is focused on giving back to student-athletes.
Therefore, there is a possibility that similar events will be scheduled in the future.
“We’ve already talked about other topics,” Crandall said. “Let’s see how it goes.”
