Few players from Florida have made as much impact on and off the field over the last two years as offensive lineman Dylan Gibbons.

Since joining the Seminoles through the NCAA Transfer Portal in 2021, Gibbons has developed into a program starter and key leader. It’s hard to put into words what he’s done locally and nationally through Big Man Big Heart. He was named the winner of his annual Werffel Award in December. This award is presented annually to his FBS player who best combines exemplary community service and leadership achievements on and off the field.
Gibbons’ next step is to venture into the NFL. Before moving on from Tallahassee, he reflected on his time with Garnet and Gold in an emotional message to the Florida community.
“It’s very emotional to take this next step because I don’t want to leave the family I’ve found here at Florida State University, but I have so much to be grateful for. Amazing teammates, coaching staff, trainers, past 2 The equipment department and strength staff for working hard to build the positive culture that fostered the great CLIMBs we all experienced over the season. There are thick and thin behind our team. Instead of saying goodbye, I would like to thank everyone who believed in me and supported my teammates over the past two years, me, Big Man Big Heart.I am building my legacy with each step. It takes me, and I couldn’t have done this without each and every one of you.
As the FSU football family moves forward to achieve greatness in the years to come, please bear in mind that it is very good to be kind, do good and lift each other up in the process. The Florida native began his college career at Notre Dame Cathedral, appearing in 29 games in one appearance over four years. During his time at Florida State University, Gibbons started all 24 games he played. In 2022 he was named to his First-Team All-ACC after the previous season he earned an All-ACC honorable mention.
The Seminoles will average 214.1 rushing yards per game in 2022, ranking 13th in the nation in 2022.
Gibbons will try to increase his draft stock and secure an invitation to the NFL Combine by appearing in the 2023 Senior Bowl on January 14.
