Sleep tourism: DTLA hotels transform space into fitness and relaxation zen den
Whether you need a break from a business trip in LA or are struggling to separate work and life in the telecommuting era, Hotel Figueroa has a space to unwind.
Los Angeles – Those who want to focus on their health in the New Year need not go far in search of peace and relaxation. Amidst the hustle and bustle of downtown Los Angeles, the historic Hotel Figueroa has transformed its finest rooms into dens of rest and relaxation.
Important to our health, 1 in 3 Americans don’t get enough sleep. Connie Wong, managing director of Hotel Figueroa, said the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent work-from-home boom has made it more difficult for many of the hotel’s guests to get quality rest. I’m here.
“We have many guests coming in who are struggling to separate work and home, especially with the pandemic,” Wang said. It’s about being able to get away from, away from home life, and clear your mind.”

Originally a women’s accommodation, the nearly 300-room Spanish-style hotel, rich in art and iconic shaped pools, was redesigned in 2018.
“Our hotel was founded in 1926 by a group of women who wanted to enable women to travel and live freely. “They were certainly ahead of their time.”
The Fig pays homage to its history and is still run mostly by women, from the head chef the hotel partnered to create this suite to industry leaders.
The suite is divided into two rooms for rest and recovery and has thought of everything. This suite has features like a customizable Pluto pillow atop a dual-zone mattress that adjusts to your body temperature. To aid sleep, suites feature guided meditations, red light therapy, and even lamps that simulate sunrise.
For the fitness conscious, there are Peloton bikes, massage guns, compression bodysuits and health supplements. There’s even a mirror with a video screen that lets you customize your workout or recovery session without leaving the room.
Hotel Figueroa’s Rest and Relaxation Suites are available for less than $500 per night.
