“Monday Night Football” brought back some very painful memories for Sharon Hughes, widow of the late former Lions receiver Chuck Hughes.
Chuck Hughes was 28 when he collapsed and died in 1971 during a game against the Bears. His widow, Sharon, now 77, Bills safety Dummer told NBC News about his state of mind when he saw Hamlin go down on the field. I had a cardiac arrest Monday night against the Bengals.
“I was very emotional,” she said.
Her thoughts turned to Hamlin’s family.

Chuck Hughes absorbed a hit from two Bears defenders on a 32-yard reception from Lions quarterback Greg Landry.
