Many of us deal with anxiety, and so do some dogs. Lindy the Chihuahua is his one such dog, but he was able to overcome it with his charming wardrobe and success at dog pageants.
homemade gown
Her wardrobe is worth over $23,000, but dog mom Mandy Corbett creates everything herself using only a sewing machine. And, of course, there’s good old-fashioned creativity. She can make a stunning gown for less than $25 a piece for her, much cheaper than similar items on the market.Similar dresses can cost upwards of $230 in commission and you can accessorize them. Adding more will make it even higher.
According to PEOPLE, Lindy lives with her two Chihuahua siblings, Coco, 4, and Indy, 10, and their dog mom keeps them in the lap of luxury.
A year ago, Lindy started participating in pageants and has already won several awards. “She walks in her confidence. For me, it’s my fun and I love it more than anything,” Corbett tells her SWNS. “It’s a complete turnaround from 2020 when she was insecure around other dogs and humans.”
good for anxiety
Corbett explained that Lindy developed lockdown anxiety during the pandemic. After another puppy Mindy sadly passed away at the age of 6 from heart failure. “Lindy seemed to know I was going through a tough time and never left my side. She was always there for me,” she said.
After she began to show anxiety, she began taking Lindy to dog shows and training classes. Corbett, an avid sewer, said having Lindy participate in the pageant gave her a reason to make costumes to her heart’s content. I’ve made over 40 costumes, visited craft shops, and received materials donated by friends to keep costs down.
