NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell boarded a plane to Washington, DC on Monday (January 16) to attend two important meetings.
The first is the 91st Winter Session of the US Conference of Mayors, January 17-19. The second is his 2023 Winter Meeting of Mayors Innovation Projects, which will take place January 20-21.
Cantrell said attending provides multiple mayor-to-mayor engagement opportunities, as well as working with federal officials to identify projects and programs that benefit residents. .
“Mayoral support and shared experience is a much-needed resource that federal officials can count on to understand what is happening on the ground in real time. meet to discuss and analyze ways to make cities fairer through infrastructure improvements, crime prevention, workforce development programs, mental health initiatives, and addressing the growing challenges of climate change. ,” said Mayor LaToya Cantrell.
