Sunday was the final day of the NFL regular season, as well as the final day of both NFL Sunday Ticket Red Zone, hosted by Andrew Siciliano, and NFL Red Zone Channel, hosted by Scott Hanson. But this wasn’t just the end of the season. It was also the end of an era.
With the NFL’s new deal with YouTube TV, the NFL RedZone channel will be the only channel offered for the 2023 season. Siciliano’s NFL Sunday Ticket Red Zone (used by DirecTV subscribers) will be gone. And while Siciliano stopped short of mentioning it during Sunday’s goodbye, it clearly wasn’t a normal sign-off for him.
“Thank you for visiting the RedZone Channel today.” He said“Season 18. Week 18. Episode 308. It really means a lot to all of us here on DirectTV and the NFL Sunday Ticket here in Los Angeles. Thank you for watching Episode 308. Thank you for watching. The only original Red Zone channel.” Another week of.My name is Andrew Siciliano.See you someday.”

Ken Fang of Awful Announce also caught Hanson’s signoff. in it he Kudos to Siciliano and the rest of the NFL Sunday Ticket Red Zone Crew before heading into a farewell for the rest of the season.
“I would like to begin with a professional tribute to DirecTV, my colleague and friend Andrew Siciliano, and the brilliant and great professionals on DirecTV’s Red Zone channel. I show my respect.”

The Red Zone concept has long been one of the most influential to reach the NFL. Siciliano and the rest of his crew deserve such tribute for not only pioneering the idea, but making it work.
