After going viral 4 years ago, this teen still makes bow ties to help shelter animals find a forever home

2 years ago, we discussed a kid assisting shelter animals get adopted by making handmade bow ties for them. Now, 4 years after he first went viral, Darius Brown continues to do more for these animals.

” My sister is like a 2nd mother to me,” Brown said. “And maturing, practically anything she wanted to do, I wished to do.”

Dazhai, who was a cosmetology trainee at the time, would make bow ties for her customers. Darius saw her making the head bows and asked if he might use a hand.

Over the past 4 years, Darius has made and contributed over 600 bow ties. The teenager states the work can be stressful at times, but when he feels overloaded, he believes about the number of dogs he can help get adopted.

Together, the siblings made a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle-themed bow tie for him.

Now, Darius is on to a new goal: donating bow ties to an animal shelter in every state. Far, hes made it to DC and 8 states, including Virginia, Illinois, and Pennsylvania.

High school is just around the corner for the young entrepreneur, and hes thrilled for whats to come. Darius has actually recently been accepted into Choate Rosemary Hall and The Lawrenceville School.

Darius then started working more difficult to accommodate the rising variety of bow tie donation requests. He even began “Beaux and Paws,” his own pet dog bow tie organization.

” Because of this I felt like it would be better to wait,” Joy said. “But I never ever desired him to seem like he was different, so eventually, I got him some security scissors and he got to work.”
