Its truly painful to enjoy somebody we love a lot go through this. He still runs every early morning– he wants everyone to know that. But that will go one day. Therefore will his voice. Therefore will his hands. I know hes actually frightened of that.

Human Beings of New YorkHe does not desire to lose his hands, because thats how hes always shown his love. When my youngest brother graduated from high school this year, we made my daddy his own brown paper bag.

We started to notice the shaking at the end of last year. Then there began to be long pauses. And trouble remembering. He was detected with ALS, and the doctors have offered him 2 to 5 years to live.
